Keith Lafleur, Louisiana's largest and greediest building contractor, thinks he's cut the deal of a lifetime. The huge old, two-story, clapboard house is his for the taking as long as he can move it to a new location. It's too big to move as is, but Lafleur's solution is simple: divide it in half. He has no idea, though, that by splitting the house he'll be dividing a family - a family long dead, a family that still exists in the house, including a mother who will destroy anyone who keeps her apart from her children.

While I really enjoyed this audio book I couldn't get past the voice of the narrator. She sounded more like an old lady with a bad southern accent than the blond haired southern belle she is supposed to be. All in all it was a geat and well written story.

Josie, Perri, and Kat have been inseparable best friends since third grade - the athlete, the brilliant, acerbic drama queen, and the popular beauty with a heart that is open to all around her. They live in an affluent suburb of Baltimore and enjoy privileges many teenagers are denied. But on the final day of school one of them brings a gun with her. And when the police break down the door of the high school girls' bathroom, locked from the inside, they find two of the friends wounded, one of them critically - and the third girl is dead.
