"Freefall" -- This is a paberback 9 x 10 1/2" picture book with the most beautiful illustrations.. much like on the cover -but more detailed. The story begins with the young boy falling asleep while reading a book which appears to be an atlas.. as he drifts off, so does a page which flows to a land like a maze/chess diagram and on.. to knights, dragons, more books and people who he joins on a journey to a city.. and oceans with swans and fish ... and he finally wakes in the morning to the things in his room which were in his dreams. Quite lovely, and a pleasure to look at with a child and discuss all that is seen. A fine addition to any library.

This book begins: Ladies & Gentlemen! I see a song. I paint music. I hear color. I touch the rainbow, and the deep spring in the ground, my music, talks. My colors dance. Come, listen, and let your imagination see your own song... Then begins 26 pages of classic Eric Carl art, which, if you know his work - is just beautiful. My kids loved all Eric's books, and this one lets the child "see" what is in their mind/heart/emotion. That is what creates an personalized story.
