This is Stephen King's best work. Maybe not his scariest, but definitely his most heartwrenching. The story is seamlessly woven; you find yourself caring about the characters almost without realizing it is happening. Which makes it all the more stomach dropping when the horrors begin...

Staphen King is a master at drawing the reader into his mind and showing us all the dark corners. I can't wait to see what he comes out with next..

This book begins as a fascinating read and slowly but surely degrades. It has too much plot, too many little sub-stories that are beside the point. The detail is revealing and fascinating at first, but becomes redundant and boring. The author veers away from the main character too much, which is too bad, because s/he is really the person the reader is interested in.

My 12 yr old daughter was spellbound. she read the entire book in one day and requested the sequel. In my book (pardon the pun), that means this book was a success!

This is one of the best stories of its type ever written. Ever! It has everything: innocence lost and regained, sort of. Mystery. Terror. Background stories almost better than the main plot. Best-friendship, love, betrayal, loss. Magic, fairy tales come to life, and dead things, too. An ending that breaks your heart, both because of the situation and because the damn book is ending!! I don't want to spoil the story by giving specifics, but if you like stories that stick with you for years after, read this book. IF you like re-reading good books and discovering something new about it each time, read this book. If you like sitting on the edge of your seat in suspense, read it. If you are not one of those people who carry their books around everywhere you go until it is finished, you will become one after starting Shadowland. Order today and enjoy!

Probably one of the best books I've read in a long time. It takes about two chapters, but after that you will be swept away by the imagery, the degradations, the triumphs and sorrows of this second rate circus and the people that make it happen. then there's the elephant...a must read.
