LeCarre gets into the problems in the Middle East. This is his typical cross / double cross type of story that he is so famous for. I had trouble following this one. Perhaps I just miss Smiley!

Smith is one of my favorite authors! This is set in the 1800s in a small coal town in England. A delightful read. I found the lead character Blair reminds me a lot of Arkady Renko, the hero in the series of books that Smith is probably best known for. If you are a Reno fan than you should read this. If you have not read Smith yet, I think this book is a good indication of his style.

I have not read a lot of Asimov, but this is not what I expected. Having said that, it is a good story! It is basically a mystery. A grad student turns up dead.. the police think it was an accident in his lab, but his mentor is not so sure. He digs into the students life and research to discover what really happened.
