Patterns divided by season & skill level. Pretty cool that it gives just as detailed instructions on sewing a cloth liner as it does the crocheted exterior.

A good book to learn new techniques such as beading.

Nice pictoral instructions too!

A young couple moves into a new building and start run training and eating healthy with the older residents. Later you find out about the motives of the older residents. This reminded me of a story from the Twilight Zone. It was really creepy!

This book has some really helpful tips. Some that I had never heard of like apple cider vinegar to get rid of gray hair (this REALLY works) and others that you just needed reminded of like don't buy an appliance this more bells & whistles than you really need. I have a bunch of bookmarks in this book marking the recipes or tips I want to try. Sorry, it is going to be awhile before I am ready to part with my copy.

The Last Snake Runner
Review Date: 10/3/2007

I was concerned this book would be too weird, time-travel, but I thoroughly enjoyed this book. This book references true events in the history of the Acoma Indians and the Spanish. It also handles parental conflict with teenagers and highlights the importance of running to the Acoma Indians.

This is a really good book. It is about a new kid (high school) who moves to a small town. He befriends one of the local boys and they train together as runners. At the big meet at the end they have to compete against each other. The language is clean and appropriate for middle school & high schoolers.

One of the best training books I have read. I like how the training schedules are set out with the 4 key workouts of the week & then you fill in the blanks to complete the total weekly miles. It also has 3 levels of training programs with different mileage ranges. I had success using these training programs with the McMillan training calculator for the paces.

I didn't use the training programs in here, but I did get some good training advise. One of my favorite parts was on the warm-up. Everyone has heard about adjusting your warm-up to the weather, but in here it gave you exact numbers (heart rate & core body temperature) to let you know when you are warmed-up properly. Nice hard numbers I can give my son when I can't be track side with him. I liked the layout of the book. It isn't out of date & it is written by a legend of running!
