It accomplished what I desired. It was a simple summer read. It jumped around a lot and the character Josh and his request for dinner didn't fit....what was his purpose? Anyway, it was a empty minded read and that is what I was wanting and expecting.

Very good book. Started out slow, but I really got into it. I had just read The Help, and this is written during the same time frame and was a good compliment. Makes me want to read more from the Civil Rights era.
