violent, & the main character is an arrogant wanker who's mouth gets him in all sorts of trouble. but, the character of Rawhead himself is strangely compelling & personable...much like Hannibal Lector. you know he's bad news, but still find yourself rooting for him.

picks up about 2 years after the first book. taking you back into the gang world of Manchester & continuing with the misadventures of Billy Dye & his former best mate, the assassin known as Rawhead. just as violent as the first book & just as subversively entertaining.

A very quick read, but surprisingly deep & insightful into the awful life-changing power of grief. The desire to be rid of it, and the consequences 'if' that wish may come to pass.
