This is an awesome book. What an amazing picture of God's redeeming love for us. It deals with tough subject matter- the girl is a prostitute that was sold into sex slavery as a child, set in the gold rush era in California, but based on the biblical story of Hosea. Definately not a read for a young person but it is a story that will touch your heart deeply. I shed many tears reading this story.
GREAT book. It's my first Francine Rivers book, but I will be reading more!!

The Reluctant Suitor (Audio CD) (Abridged)
Review Date: 2/2/2008

The actual story was pretty good, altho I could have done without all the sexual parts. Lynn Redgrave reads this and I'm not sure it was the best choice. But I did enjoy it for the most part.

Francine Rivers writes good Christian Fiction, once I start one of her books I can't put it down. This one is no exception. This book interweaves two stories: Sierra and her Ancestor who came to california by Wagon. It tells a similar story between the two thru troubles, tragedies, and hard times; how they grew in their relationship with God and in love with the Men in their lives. A great Read.

I really enjoyed listening to this book. The reader does a good job and the stories were tear jerkers at times. I loved it. But what's not to like about a Macomber book and esp a Blossom Street book!!!

This was a pretty good story, but not my favorite Karen Kingsbury by any means. Kind of unrealistic in a way. But it was a good story to explore the problems with Divorce and to reemphasize how God hates divorce. Some good discussion questions at the end. She wrote this as a Women Of Faith project and it's a good story.

I just finished listening to this book on Cd. I absolutly love this series of audio books. It's filled with sound effects and dramatized somewhat. The story was good and kept you on the edge of your seat. It wasn't based on the military like the first three but about an FBI agent. Still was a great story!! I'm quickly becoming a big Dee Henderson fan!

I listened to this book on Audio book and it's really a great story. I enjoyed that it's slightly dramatized with a lot of sound effects, and the narrarator has the sexiest voice ever!! But most of all it's a great story with just the right mix of faith, action, suspense, and romance all rolled up into one. I'm hoping to get the rest in this series and listen to them on CD.

This is the first in a series of three. This was a great story and gives a person a look at life in Rome at this time along with what it was like for Christians at this time to Be Christains. It's eerily similar to America today, and makes you think. Hadassah is a wonderful character and is a great example of what a Christian should be, it's a wonderful story and you won't be able to wait to read the next one so go ahead and get it too!!!!

This is a good book if you liked Divine Secrets. I don't particularly like the language some times but it's a good book all in all.
This is an unabridged copy, there is a scratch on the back cover that unfortunatly caused the isbn number to be partially unreadable.
