I love every book Anna Quindlen has written. I am always drawn in by her characters and the life lessons her books reveal, this book is no exception.

I love historical fiction, so I am somewhat biased, but this book captured me by its detail and accuracy. It was one of my favorite books of 2010 and I am always amazed at an author's first work. To be a woman in the early 1900's was not an easy task, I do not take for granted those who made my life easier today by what they had to endure.

A good study in three generations of women and what they do to survive, I'm not sure they were crazy, but did what they had to do.

A nice story of the life of a friendship, recipes are average, lots of email conversations, ending somewhat predictable. My favorite quote of the book: anger is the teacher, forgiveness is the lesson.

Interesting characters, Anna Quindlen is a favorite author and I haven't read a book of her's I wouldn't recommend.
