I thought this was cute chick lit. It's cute and she's funny.

I usually don't do reviews but I really liked this one... prompted me to buy a bunch rather than wait for them to be wish listed :)

Nothing is Strange with You: The Life and Crimes of Gordon Stewart Northcott

One of the few books that I just could not finish. The crimes are so awful that I just could not wait to get this book out of my house once I started it. The cover is so creepy I could not look at it and the cruel evilness was so gruesome I just could not read any more.

I wasn't a fan. While some concepts are interesting such as things that happen in China, I found the characters depths lacking. Once I start a book I have to finish it & I suffered through it waiting for it to get better. The character is 27, but behaves like a teenager and considering the book has all these intelligence agencies chasing her, and she never gets away or does anything intelligent it just wasn't enjoyable. I wouldn't recommend it.

Disappointed- no real mystery here. Was unsatisfying and did not enjoy the characters. Felt like she had to write something to fulfill a contract and just threw anything together. Miss her earlier books...

I agree with the other review. It felt a bit aimless. I started to get it mid-book, but I personally feel it shouldn't take so long for the pattern to emerge, especially when the dialog, while pretty & poetic, does not bring clarity as you go along. I struggled to finish this as my friend read it at the same time. While it wasn't a "slow" read, I found myself just not wanting to go back to it. It's like that point of the night where you realize you drank a bit too much & can't get steady footing, only to fall asleep and be confused when you are waking up.
