This book opened up a new view into the life of the Pelzer family, first introduced to us in 'A Child Named It' by Richard's brother Dave. I didn't think this book was as well written, but the story and the horror were no less enthralling.

This is a heart-wrenching story of David Pelzer's childhood and his survival of it. It proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that everything can be overcome. Excellent book, I highly recommend it!

While this was ultimately a good book, and a fitting finish to the Women of Glory series, it took me a while to warm up to Lt. Callie Donovan. Granted, she had been through a very tough time, but initially she was too weak, too willing to play the victim. Someone with a career in the military has to be made of sterner stuff than she was appearing. Eventually, Top Gun Ty Ballard was able to see that she didn't need to be a victim anymore, and the ending was very good, fitting of the women who serve our country in the military.

Samantha's Heart was excellent. It is the companion book to The Bride's Quilt, also by Pamela Quint Chambers. Both books are very good. Samantha's Heart traces the growing love between Samantha & Ben, who she has known since childhood, but comes to see in a very different light.

Book 5 in the Southern Knights series centers on Reid Donovan, unwanted-son of Serenity Street, who has to overcome his past and learn to believe in himself before he can accept the love of a good woman.
