I thought I wasn't going to like this book and with 10 cds I considered just reposting it. I am really glad I chose to start listening. Think IRA, Crusades, Ku Klux Klan and then put an ancient twist on it. really good! Oh, and the good guys win.

I have enjoyed James Lee Burke and his Iberia Parish books but this one was impossible to get a handle on.

This was one of the few Grisham books I was not disapointed with. There was actually an ending! If you like this one try Skipping Christmas, it was really funny and not at all a Grisham read.

This was an interesting book about the juxtaposition of dominant sex. Where male children are protected and used to trade as part of a family's wealth. As with all humans, some families use this responsibility wisely, while others consider their sons nothing more than Chattel. Is it fantasy or is it SCI-FI? Your guess is as good as mine! I really loved it. I have enjoyed all of Wen Spencer's books.

Vampire Bill and Sookie (the mind reader) are interesting characters who date. I enjoyed this book. It was a light read with shades of Anita Blake Vampire slayer. The book had everything from the obvious Vampires to crazy people, people with strange sexual proclivities, shapeshifters and even "The King". It certainly was not boring!

Odd is a strange hero who communes with the dead. Elvis is his regular companion. Elvis and the others who have passed try to lead him in the right direction to solve the murder. I love Odd, he is so-o-o-o odd.

I always enjoy Detective Dave Robicheaux and the Iberia Parish gang. For a guy with alot of baggage he manages to keep it together and get the bad guys. The characters in James Lee Burke's Robicheaux series are alive (and sometimes dead)at least to my mind. A good read.

Tad Williams is not a fantasy author for the dabbler. This is serious, though provoking fiction.
