Narrated by the author which is perfect. He tells a story of his strong family that suffered from extreme poverty. Yet they survived the times with dignity and pride and love for one another. Rick Bragg is brilliant. I can listen to and read his stories over and over.

I disagree with this book being only 2 stars. I thought it was an excellent murder mystery that keeps you guessing and draws you into the plot. With so many people going to China it was interesting to read about the different cities.

Very informative. It's always good to educate yourself and be aware of where people come from and what their realities are. I would recommend highly.

If you enjoy true stories about Hollywood of the 1940's through the 1970's - you'll enjoy this book. She worked hard to keep her craft exciting and creative for her which was no easy task for a woman in this era.

Much of this information is now what is used in the new & popular series "The Secret." Wayne's information is backed by more specific and researched information. Very good.

Bored at reading the same old authors this one is different, creative and funny. If you like to laugh at life at it's most messy moments - you'll enjoy this Haddon book.
