I learned a lot from reading about Corrie's last five years on this earth. Her life still touched others even though she couldn't talk. Many would conclude her usefulness for the Lord was over but it became clear that He was using even this trial for her good and those around to bring Him glory. I'm glad to have read this book. I'll treasure it's lessons in my heart as I grow older.

Hannah Whitall Smith wrote one of the most beloved Christian classics of all time - The Christian's Secret of a Happy Life. Many difficult circumstances conspired to crush all joy and meaning from her life... loss of 4 children... her husband (a celebrated evangelist, suffered a nervous breakdown and later fell victim to a scandal that wrecked his ministry and his faith.. and on the list goes. Yet, in spite of these personal tragedies she was able to find hope and delight in the secret of the Christian's life.
