I really enjoyed this! I've been a fan of her horror writing for a long time, and the change in style suits her. Great inside track on life as a chef in New Orleans, and the food descriptions are amazing. Also some gay themes (as per her usual) which attracted me a bit. Lots of fun to read.

I gave up about halfway through on this one. The beginning was intriguing enough, but I felt like I was not the target audience -- definitely more targeted to "teen romance" than a horror novel, or even a more adult sort of romantic vampire novel like Interview with a Vampire. So, not for me.
