This book is part of the Women's Murder Club Series. Police Lt. Lindsay Boxer fires her weapon and sets off a series of events that puts her on trial. A second story unfolds around her as she takes a leave of absence. A longtime fan of James Patterson, (who co-writes with Maxine Paetro this time) I always enjoy his books and this was no exception.

3 passengers are dead. 56 are injured. The interior cabin virtually destroyed. But the pilot manages to land the plane... At a moment when the issue of safety and death in the skies is paramount in the public mind, a lethal midair disaster aboard a coommercial twin-jet airliner bound from Hong Kong to Denver triggers a pressured and frantic investigation.

This book is about a husband who is a salesman and is offered a once in a lifetime- "too good to be true" job with unbelievable perks, including a mansion with a limo driver, cook and the perfect caretaker. He doesn't question his good fortune because he is an egotist who truly believes he deserves it. However, there is more than meets the eye to this situation and events take a turn for the worse. This book started out a little slow for me, but then picked up and ended up with some interesting twists.

Another great "Prey" book by John Sandford! Six months ago, Lucas Davenport tackled his first case as a statewide troubleshooter, and he thought that one was plenty strange enough. But that was before the Russian got killed. On the shore of Lake Superior, a man named Rodion Oleshev is found shot dead, three holes in his head and heart, and although nobody knows why he was killed, everybody- the local cops, the FBI, and the Russians themselves- has a theory. And when it turns out that Oleshev had very high government connections, that's when it hits the fan. A Russian cop flies in from Moscow, Davenport flies in from Minneapolis, Law enforcement and press types swarm the crime scene- and in the middle of it all, there is another murder. Is there a relationship between the two? What is the Russian cop hiding from Davenport? Is she a cop at all? ...

Great book. I met the author at our local library many years ago and was hooked on her books. The main character is a deaf journalist who is also an amateur detective. The stories are based in Northern California, where I live so they were all the more fun to read.
