A nicely written young adult fantasy from an author most famous for his comic book work, also containing a number of wonderful illustrations. The story was a pleasant read, though it did contain a few scenes of violence and a few character deaths that may be disturbing to sensitive readers. My only complaint with the book is that it felt like the first in a series and I wish more had followed.

I'm really enjoying the Christine Bennett series. The characters are well developed, there's enough background to feel like you have known these people for a long time, and yet it's not so congested with irrelevant descriptions that make you want to skip ahead.

another great Goldy the Caterer story. Have read them all and never been disappointed. Also tried many of the recipes and look forward to the next in the series.
