First time I have read this author. It was really different, more fantasy than paranormal in my opionion. I will probably read others in the series. It wasn't one of my favorite, just okay.

Above an exclusive men's store on Rodeo Drive there is a private club called Butterfly, where women are free to act out their secret erotic fantasies. Only the most beautiful and powerful women in Beverly Hills are invited to join.

This story takes you far away to the village of Mididima. Miss Sweeney is the American who comes to the village to share her love of reading with this tribe. Throughout the story the villagers felt like she was invading their way of life with her camel bookmobile, and really kept their fences up... but as you read on you begin to feel like they really are glad that she has brought them things to read and they actually look forward to her visits. There is some slight romance in the story that I did not expect and a great ending. I loved it!

Great book! This was the first time I have read this author and I really like his works. He is right up there with James Patterson and Patricia Cornwell type books.

I personally did not enjoy this book. As I got to the middle I kept wishing for the book to hurry up and end cause I was really bored with it. I did not read the first book and maybe this is why I was bored with this one. The characters didn't really develop for me. Eva did a little bit, but Lorcan's character was just kind of blah and he was so depressed all the time. At times I would forget that he was even part of the story. Then there is a part where Eva argues with an enemy (won't spoil) but that was kind of un-exciting as well. I was really left with wanting more spark, more romance, more something! I didn't care for the made up words, the Gaelic speak, and some of the thrown in Mythology.
And a good thing to know, is there is a little glossary at the back of the book that explains what the Gaelic words mean, what the made up words mean and some explanation of Vampire lore etc. That would have been helpful to know before I read the whole book. Found it after I finished this book. So overall, thumbs down.

Wow, I thought this book was really good. Being as though I am also 40, I could totally understand this characters feelings about being older. As for the character Kai, well in some ways I didn't like him because he seemed to be a little arrogant and didn't put as much feeling into the fling or relationship as Jacqueline did. I highly recommend this book. I read it in just a few days, it was that good!!

I hated every minute of this book. I really don't like to start books and not finish them, so I struggled through it till the end. It was not one that I looked forward to every night as I went to read in bed, that should tell you how awful it was. I felt like it jumped all over the place and the author never really developed the characters very well. The main love interest for Vina appeared somewhere in the middle of the book, and you never really found out too much about him. This book was forgettable!

It took me awhile to get into this book. I love vampire stories, but this one was very different because the vampires in this book are part of the community it is against the law to slay them, well unless they need to be slayed. In comes Anita Blake who not only is a vampire slayer but also raises the dead.
Once I finished the book I did decide that I will probably read the rest in the series. I just hope the rest of them are easier to get into than this one.

I really enjoy this series. Sookie Stackhouse reminds me of an older Buffy, but she isn't really a vampire slayer...just in love with a vampire.
