I had read all of Strout's novels except this one, which was not available in kindle in our library, but I enjoyed reading it in hardback from Paperback Swap. It is an engaging story of a man recovering from a loss.

It is a tiny book, but if you study it like it was your writing Bible, it will make writing easier.

I happened across this book in a school library one June when I was teaching summer school, and I found some of the exercises exciting. Now I have the time to do them at my leisure. The book is filled with useful prompts and valuable suggestions for the creative writer.

Not her best.

This is one of my favorite books to listen to. Much of the credit goes to the reader, Tom Stechshulte. Tom Stechshulte is the best reader of audiobooks on the planet. He could read an autobiography of Rush Limbaugh or Ted Cruz and I would listen, and I am a Democrat!
