This is the 3rd in the series of the Seventh Carrier. Hidden by a sliding glacier in a secret anchorage in a cove on Siberia's Chukchi Peninsula in 1941, the Imperial Japanese Navy's largest carrier Yonaga was trapped in ice for 42 years. Manned by samurai and commanded by Admiral Hiroshi Fujita, the crew subsisted on fish and seaweed while maintaining the ship, aircraft anf weapons in top fighting trim. Many crewman died, but in 1983 the carrier broke loose and steamed south through the Bering Sea.
She was to become the most formidable fighting force in the world when a Chinese system of laser equipped satellites malfunctioned and all over the world killer beams instantly destroyed every jet and rocket. Only reciprocating engines were able to function.
American Ensign Brent Ross was aboard as part of the ship's crew.

This volume has enough look-back to explain prior events,if you have not read the first 2 volumes, but the series is best read in order. Continues the fight of the WWII combined allied and axis forces against the "space invaders" and follows the characters from the first 2 volumes.
