A must read for any post-apocalyptic junkie. It stands the test of time. Also great for SF-Bay Area lit heads.

I like SciFi and if it is set in the SF Bay Area I'll tend to read it even more. This book is totally plausible. Just in 2007 the Costco Busan hit the Bay Bridge and well...plastic is still around but all the factors to make this book real are here today. So maybe it isn't so scifi after all...except the rail gun!

This is an excellent WWII tale of survival in the backwoods of Newfoundland told as part historical fiction and part historical fact. When a fire apparently starts on an airplane bound from Labrador to the Newfoundland island three soles go out the door into the darknight not knowing if they are above water or land. One has a large amount of US dollars in his case. The next is as British serviceman and the last is Jack Hogan, Newfoundland Ranger...for the rest...you'll have to read it yourself.
