This collection is a delightful and thorough anthology of women's poems from around the globe. High recommendations for Women's Studies or just plain poetry lovers.

This book was a whole lot of fun to read. A cross between a medical thriller and a Mafia story, it kept me wide-eyed and amused throughout. The main character is an ex-hit man turned intern physician who is likable and easy to root for. The laughs are plentiful in this wild romp through a run New York City Hospital with burned out healers. this is a dark comedy lightened by sarcasm and wit. I give it high recommendations for a quick and lively vacation page turner.

I read this book over twenty years ago, and I still recall sitting riveted, unable to put it down. Excellent book.

I enjoyed reading Case Histories. It was a quick read. Three cold case mysteries turned over to a private detective keep the pages turning. I don't agree with Stephen King's assessment that this is the "mystery of the decade," but a solid, well written, enjoyable story about a private eye with problems in his personal life trying to bring these three cases to closure for his clients, all the while with someone trying to kill him. A unique and interesting cast of characters emerges as the story is told, with occasional unexpected humor.

This was a treat to read! A charmingly gentle and compassionate fiction story with a very real to life voice, this "mystery" involves an autistic teenager on the outskirts of London who faces family drama and neighborhood problems while nearly (but not quite) exhausting his coping skills. You will root for this simple yet complicated young man as he struggles to understand his world. The character of his father is brilliantly explored, presenting a faceted and flawed man with a good heart.

I read this book while recovering from surgery, a time when it was hard to focus on reading....and this book did the trick as far as holding my attention and keeping me focused. It was a very engaging and thoroughly thought provoking look at social issues surrounding illegal immigration in Southern California. Told with compassion and also a biting satirical voice, this book is a must read for anyone interested in living an examined life while up against moral dilemmas put on out collective plates at this time in our evolution as sharers of the planet Earth.
