While I've enjoyed the rest of the series, this book was a chore for me to get through. Into the Flame is the finale of the series. I was looking forward to the bantering dialogue and simmering attraction between the two protaganists. Instead, the story was flat, the "attraction" was b.o.r.i.n.g. I found myself skimming and having to go back and re-read. Overall, a disappointment.

Love, Rosie just didn't deliver for me. The story, presented in letters, Instant Messages, and emails, began to wear on me very quickly. The format stunted the character development and half-way through, when I was struggling to get through each chapter, I realized I didn't care a single lick about either character. Nada. I felt like I had been reading a very long newspaper article that gave the facts...and only the facts. I realized I didn't understand the character's motivations or emotional turmoil...for that matter I didn't understand how they were supposedly the best of childhood friends and thus ill-fated lovers. It was a challenge to read... It felt like someone promised me a quick trip around the block but instead.... I'm still in the car...wondering if we are ever gonna get there already??

Cute, light beach read. Enjoyed the guessing game until the end.

After reading all the positive reviews, I was really looking forward to Sunshine. But it just didn't work for me. It was a labor for me to get through the story. The world building and overwhelming rambling details never came together. After I read the last sentence, I was beyond frustrated. So much of the book felt...pointless. The "idea" of the book was brilliant. The "execution" didn't work for me. As a reader, I just didn't click with McKinley's voice.

Better than average chick lit/romance. Great character development gave the book depth and kept the story believable. Definitley felt like I got my time/money's worth.
