I can't remember the last book I read that had me so totally engrossed. It started out a little slow, then all of a sudden I could not put it down! I found myself sneaking it into my work day, reading it instead of making dinner, and reading it well into the night, which if you knew me, you would realize very little comes between mw and a good night's sleep! I found out that a movie has been made of this book and it is coming out in April 2015. So excited! Even though I know the movie couldn't begin to measure up to this awesome book! I highly recommend you drop whatever book you are currently reading and read this instead. You won't be disappointed.

This is a most insprational book on so many levels. The students and their stories are amazing, their teacher and all that she had to overcome to reach her students is truly inspirational and the people they met through their readings continue to inspire all people over the decades.I highly recommend this uplifting and unforgettable book.

What a great find! I picked this book up at the Salvation Army and loved it! It is the true story of a woman who supported her family of 10 kids by doing what she did best- write jingles or finish a line in 25 words or less. She was a gifted writer and she won many prizes to prove it; two cars, numerous trips, bicycles, toys, kitchen appliances and a boat-load of money- all used to support her family. She was a hero to her kids and a true inspiration to the rest of us.
