The book contains lots of good quotes from Lincoln, but mainly from a book that Lincoln read from often. The author then adds his two cents worth to each quote. It is a very good book, but not exactly what I had hoped. I was expecting more words from Lincoln's own mouth, not the author's. That being said, the author has some very good things to say and the book is very worth reading.

The Alchemist is a very interesting book with a very though inspiring message. The philosophy is told through an adventurous story about a young man attempting to follow his dream. Several members of my family also read the book and quite enjoyed it. I, personally, found the writing style a bit annoying, but others didn't mind it. My son who speaks Portuguese says that it is common for them to think in a simple straightforward manner. Although I appreciate that background, it was still not a pleasant read for me. Notwithstanding my personal opinion on the writing style, the book is well worth reading.

I love Paul Horgan's writing style and word usage. He did a grand job of telling the story of Lincoln's early years in a charming and delightful way. The book is short and only deals with the New Salem years. Well worth the short time it took to read.

This is a very understandable, encouraging book on weight loss. It tells the tale about why we crave certain foods, and how to eat the right foods for our body type. There are four basic body types described in the book and it is fairly easy to identify the one that applies to each individual. The diet to follow for each specific body type is clear and manageable. I have personally had a great deal of success with the diet and lifestyle prescribed in this book and recommend it highly to others.

Georgette Heyer is a master at developing colorful characters that endear themselves to the reader very quickly. "Why Shoot a Butler" is certainly no exception to this. The story is well crafted, the mystery is difficult to unravel, but not impossible (if you pay attention), and she even managed to put a delightful romance in the mix. This a very good read; engaging and thoroughly enjoyable. I highly recommend it to anyone.
