What a great start to a new series! The characters are instantly likable and well-developed. Winnie lives on her Grandparents' orchard, running it with her Grandmother after her Grandfather's death.
When a neighbor is murdered on the orchard, and her grandmother is the prime suspect, Winnie starts investigating and getting into all sorts of trouble.
Add a pair of kittens and a new Sheriff to the mix, and you have one heck of a mystery!

Though I definitely was not crazy about the ending of the book, overall I really enjoyed the twists and turns and detail in the book. It was a little slow at the beginning, but once it picked up I was hooked and could not put it down.
