I get books from several sources and don't know the provenance of each, but I can assure you that the home they're currently in is non-smoking and I don't keep any book in the house that smells remotely of cigarettes. Cat allergies abound here but we do have a dog. Do not ask me for "like new" books. I will not send them. Most of my books are in excellent condition, but placing that type of condition on a trade violates the spirit of the site, in my opinion.
