Carol Higgins Clark has written another fun book in her Regan Reilly series, one which was hard to put down but very quick to finish. As usual there are no really serious crimes in this book and no really heinous criminals. All is basically well that ends well, and it does. I found myself feeling quite sorry for Georgina, who had a really bad life. I hope she got the therapy she desperately needed. And I wondered why Lillian didn't even think about picking up the phone, calling Regan, and asking about the letters instead of trying to do things the hard way.
I have no real complaints about this book, but I missed Regan's parents. I hope to see more of them in the next book.
For a fun read on an airplane, on a long car ride or on a night when there is nothing good on TV, get this book. You will enjoy it.

This was the first Carol Higgins Clark book I read, and it got me hooked. If you're coming from her mother, Mary's, books, don't expect the same kind of novel. CHC's books aren't thrillers like MHC's but rather comic mysteries with parallel storylines from the detective's and the villain's points of view. Zapped has an interesting, if not terribly original, plot, and I snickered the whole way through: the secondary characters are a real treat, particularly the wanna-be actress, Lorraine. This is probably my second-favorite Carol Higgins Clark novel, after only Snagged.

Typical Regan Reilly - multiple plots intersect at end.
Quick read, funny, definitely kept me turning the page long after I should be asleep. I hadn't read any of the books before this one, and the good thing is, I wasn't lost!
Carol Clark does almost as good as her Mother (Mary) when writing books. She holds your attention and stays with decent stories so you don't have to cringe for Cursing, filth, sex or any vulgarity. This book will keep you guessing till the end. I always wondered if help would come one time. She twist the plot around to keep you wondering what will happen next. Good Read, I recommend it...
Carol Higgins Clark gets better and better!
This was not my favorite of the Regan series. Usually they are funny whodunits but this one was neither.
Loved this book. Great writer just like her mother.
Regan and Jack Reilly return to Manhattan after a summer weekend away just as a citywide blackout strikes. Jack, head of the NYPD Major Case Squad, is called to an art gallery burglary, while Regan helps her best friend, Kit, abandoned at a comedy club by a disturbed and possibly homicidal colleague. Meanwhile, actress Lorraine Lily--recently retruned from England--discovers her estranged husband sold their loft to the Reillys. Lorraine is determined to use any means necessary to retrieve the contents of a safe hidden in the loft, for those contents could destroy her budding career. And now the Reilly loft is empty in the dary....
Another great Regan Reilly book.
