Charming look at living life to its fullest after divorce. A little fairy-tale-ish, but a quick read. Would recommend.

Forty is the new twenty. Please! The main character, Alice, thinks that if no one ever asks her age, she doesn't have to reveal it. That makes sense. But hair dye and tight jeans are only going to cover so much. I put myself into Alice's shoes because I'm 45 and I'm constantly told I look around 30. But I have a problem with Alice for a number of reasons. One of the reasons being she's had a child and we all know how our bodies change once we've had children. You could be in the best shape of your life but it'll show on your face. Look at the various celebrities out there who've had children. Second, hair dye is only good for people with light hair and light complexions. If you have black hair and you start dying it, you're going to look washed out and sallow. I'm lucky, I have gray hair that looks like an expensive highlighting job. It surrounds my face. Now, if I dyed it black, I would look ridiculous because my skin tone would be all wrong. Any way, I'm getting too nit-picky. It was a cute story but I found it to be too unbelievable. For me, I've dated guys who were 15 years younger and it was just too depressing and weird. As Monica on "Friends" said, "I feel so Joan Collins!"

I liked it. The main characters daughter grated on my nerves at times but I can see how she was necessary to show the weakness.

This book just didn't grab me like I was hoping for. The idea was a good one I suppose, but I got bored fairly quickly and put it down.

44-year-old mom finds out after divorce that she can look half her age, and thus transcend agist hiring practices and find true love with a cute 20-something guy. Pages clean, though one page had a crease when I received it. Cover tight except for 1 creased corner.
