The authors are New York florists and the book is published to promote 180flowers. I obtained it for the bookshelf at the old soldiers' home in hopes that someone will arrange the bulk flowers left in the lobby on Friday afternoons (unsold stock from an unknown to me do-gooder) and brighten the common rooms. The three previous similar books I have obtained disappeared immediately and fewer of the flowers are found in the lobby Saturday mornings, but flower arrangements haven't made their way to the patient areas.
This book presents various ideas in a straight forward manner, arranged by season. The authors begin with a description of the tools and the optimal work surface. For some arrangements the needed flowers and quantity are listed, followed by 'What you need.' There are highlighted suggestions (Quick Tip) throughout the book on how to preserve your flowers. The objective of the book is to inspire the reader (and thus sell more flowers).
Regarding weddings, note pp. 146-147 'What to ask your florist.'
