I look forward to my morning dose of C.S. Lewis! This daily reader is filled with snips of encouragement, wisdom, eye-opening revelation and thought-provoking views on Scripture, always in the typical humble style of C.S. Lewis. It has made me desire to read many more of his books so I can get the full stories, the entire speeches behind the passages. Sometimes a reading seems stunted, due to lack of space and context, but often due to lack of understanding, of not having experienced that certain thing on my part, but I'm quite certain that others benefit from that day's reading.
Mr. Lewis had vast knowledge and comprehension of Scripture, such an understanding of God's purpose for our lives, and a tenderness yet toughness for how weak we are on our own, without God. His ability to relay all this to the average Joe is what makes his writings, usually, reachable. The editors of this book have done an excellent job of picking out specific gems from all the huge pile of gems that are C.S. Lewis' writings.
I have enjoyed giving these books as gifts, hoping my friends and family enjoy it as much as I do!
