This is one of the better Vietnam air war books, up there with 'Thud Ridge' and 'When Thunder Rolled'. It's also a very quick read.

If you are looking purely for narrative and anecdotal stories, this is not the book for you - while there are several amusing stories in this book, it is more focused on an analysis of the air war from the Navy perspective. There are lots of diagrams and charts. If you are interested in knowing how many A4s were shot down over Vietnam and by what weapons, this is the book for you.

The author does a good job of weaving together stories and statistics to present an informative and enjoyable overview of the Navy air war.
