I was shocked at how trite and not well written this book was. It is like Ms. Palmer had a contract and a deadline, but absolutely no inspiration. I have enjoyed her other books but this one is only a 2 star for me.
The first book I ever read written by Diana Palmer was Diamond Spur, I was hooked !! I have read every book she has ever written and have loved them all. This book was like she rewrote Diamond Spur just changed the charters. Still a very good book.
I loved it!! Bodie is a long time family friend to the Kirks. After Cane comes back from the war with one less arm he feels he is no longer a whole man. He thinks he can run from his problems by drinking them away. Bodie is the only one that can calm the drunk Cane down. Bodie has loved Cane from afar, but has never been able to let him know. Cane however doesn't want any woman in his life especially not Bodie because she is too young.
