Michael Connelly has done it again with THE WRONG SIDE OF GOODBYE. This is a masterful mystery of two parts. Harry Bosch has dusted off his private eye license and has taken on a case from a reclusive billionaire, wondering if he has an heir. As a teenager, he had a relationship with a young Mexican girl, who disappeared soon after she told her partner that she was going to have a baby. Now the billionaire wants to right the wrong he did to the young woman.
In his spare hours, Harry has started to work for free for a small, cash-strapped community. Using the street-smarts he developed at LAPD, Harry soon realizes that there is a serial rapist afoot. The two stories take turns leading Harry in different directions until he puts together the clues. It is great when Harry and Mickey Haller work together -- as they do in this case.
