This is a great book. Laura Ingalls Wilder describes her life growing up and it was hard. Then Almanzo got diphtheria and had a stroke which left him limping the rest of his life. These people were frugal and recycled everything, wasting nothing. Laura was a farm hand alongside Almanzo and the First year they moved to Rocky Ridge farm she did all the farm chores herself. She always did all the housework herself. She never graduated from anything. She went only two semesters to high school .They was too much work to survive. This is a must read for every modern man and woman.

For her time Laura Ingalls Wilder was a very forward thinking woman.
