I loved this book. I literally just finished it and can't articulate yet why I liked it so much. Maybe because I did not like the author's other book Euphoria that much and it bored me to tears. This did not. I laughed, I cried. Maybe because this one is set in more contemporary times with a contemporary character in a large city. The other one was in the past (or felt like it throughout the novel) and about anthropology and on some weird island. Anyway, Casey is a struggling writer who is grieving the death of her mother and in relationships with two different men. She is trying to figure out how to live a grown up life but still maintain her desire to live in the arts/be a writer. I loved these characters for all their strengths and all their flaws. I felt all the emotions with this one. I'm glad I gave this author a second chance!

Drop everything and read this book. It's beautifully written and Casey is such an interesting character. You feel all the emotions with her. I have read Lily King before but plan to read more now.
