A well written book about a man who learns to cope with the memories of a unwilling "father", a mother he never knew, and a bother with mental illness. How he finds love in a long lost childhood playmate that steps back into his life bringing her own set of problems. The only mama he has ever know was "Mama" Ella, a man his father hired to care for him. Makes me wish we all had a Mama Ella, looking in on us.

I absolutely loved this book. It has a wonderful message about how love (even of only one person) can change your life and help make you who you are. I am a huge Charles Martin fan and this book does not disappoint. It is sometimes tough to see how things made this man who he is, but well worth the ride.
