I really enjoyed this book. The charactors are well developed and I loved the pranks they played on each other. Maxim doesn't really come in until about page 140 but Elise's time spent with Nicholas is intriguing because you just KNOW a triangle is in the works and can a long term male friendship survive that??

I will read anything and everything by Kathleen Woodiwiss. This one I have read several times over the years. True, classic romance book....and very character driven.

A breathtaking tale of love and romance told with all the magic that has endeared Woodiwiss to millions of readers. I enjoyed this book very much.
Elizabeth's England a time of great danger. The Marques's of Bradbury is branded a traitor. He has lost his titles, his land, and his wealth. He will also lose his heart. Elise is beautiful and spirited she is also the sworn enemy of the Marques's. It's not probably the best idea in the world to take her captive. His bumbling men end up doing just that.
Elizabethan England... romance and intreque. A kidnapped beauty falls in love with her abductor.
Enjoyed the book as I enjoy most all of this authors books.
