I'm was so disgusted (at first), delighted, angered, amazed and touched by these stories about the oddities of humankind... "Fantastic Freaks" is a great book, the stories are well-documented and well-written without sounding condenscending or disdainful, but also with a personal touch to boot. I bought this book almost eight years ago and still never get tired reading it (personal favorite is still the story of The Elephant Man).
