This fine book was a New York Times best seller although a science book. Major schools including Harvard and Yale threatened the publisher, Macmillan Co. that if they didn't stop publication, they would buy no more books from them. The threat worked and although it was selling like hot cakes, they gave it to Doubleday who made a lot more money with it. A fascinating read with a lot of controversial views. Author Immanuel Velikovsky wrote a follow-up called "Stargazers and Gravediggers" telling about the boycott. I recommend both.
