In cities, jungles,deserts-in Europe, Africa, the Pacific- the finest book on our biggest war since "The Longeest Day."
WWII is a summing up, a back at the pain and hunor, the adventure and the bordom, the deep experience that was the Second World War.
IT IS THE BOOK THAT FUTURE HISTORIANS MAY WELL READ AS THE SINGLE VOLUME THAT MOST REVEALS THE ESSENCE OF THAT WAR.
The text is brilliantly illuminated with some of the finest combat art to come out of that savage conflict -created by soldiers in the field, and such noted artists as Howard Brodie, Tom Lea, Bill Mauldin and George Baker.
