A beautifully organized treasury that samples all sorts of authors - Laura Ingalls Wilder, Jonathan Swift, Ogden Nash, Beatrix Potter, Astgrid Lindgren, L. Frank Baum, Judy Blume, Robert Frost. Clifton Fadiman introduces the book by saying that it is intended for older readers, age nine through fourteen, "and on up." It's the "on up" that is really true, for these are enduring children's stories. This is the paperback edition.
