Although the book is made up with interviews with Frs. Keating and Boyle, it is a good starting point for taking up the practice of Centering Prayer. Along with Thomas Keating's personal history, it presents his thoughts about the nature of modern life and how Contemplative living can lead to deeper happiness. Fr. Boyle's interview is also informative and helpful. Excellent book.
