Nasaw is a different style writer but that makes it more appealing to read his books. At times, he does remind me of Anne Rice but I think he goes deeper into the dark side.

This book is a good mixture of vampires, intrigue, erotic moments and suspenseful moments that edge toward the deep dark side Nasaw is trying to get across. He does so very well.

It's a great read and different. Personally, I love writer's that take the time to be different yet hold on to the reader throughout the book. He does it very well.

I really enjoyed this book. It takes a unique look at the world of vampires that I haven't seen before - vampirism as an addiction.

I really do enjoy Jonathan Nasaw's writing - and this vampire book (with a twist, as blood is a drug) was certainly full of sex and violence. I had read this a while ago - one of the few fiction books I had checked out from the library. Still, I really do enjoy his writing and everyone loves a good vampire story!

I was pretty excited to start reading this book, but I got bored about a fourth of the way through. I kept thinking, "Okay, get to the point." I found myself skipping pages so I could get to the actual story line. I feel like Nasaw really wanted to right a porn novel but didn't have the guts. The book would have been more accurately titled "A History of Witches and Vampires." I did finish the book but wish I hadn't wasted time reading it. Too much fluff and not enough stuff. I'll take Anne Rice anyday.

Wonderful re-imagining of the "Vampire" mythos. A sequel would be a perfect re-write of the vampire in our lives.
