I loved this book, lyrical prose and interesting characters. This is a coming of age story with twists and turns. Sad to discover the author has passed away and this and her collection of short stories, Circling the Drain are all we get to see from this talented author.

This is an unusual, wonderfully-written novel about a disturbed girl who runs away after committing a crime. How very sad that the author died tragically before we were graced with more of her writing!

This book is an utterly unique take on
what it means to run away and join a circus. A marvelous array of characters.

Amanda Davis has really done a great job here. The book is quite creepy at times and will leave you thinking about more than just what's going to happen next. Graphic at times it is a great read and provokes thought and for me personally promoted awareness. The main character is easily to relate to for anyone who has been teased on the basis of their looks. A great read for anyone.
