Very informative about a variety of soccer techniques: dribbling, passing, heading, receiving, crossing, aerial control, tackling, and more. Under these techniques, how-tos and practices session ideas are given. Also discuses systems of play, man-2-man defenses, zonal defenses, attacking, counter attacking, pressing, and goalkeeping.

Pros and cons of various issues are listed. Color illustrations and photos abound. Psychology of the game and team shaping are discussed.

Issues unique to women players are presented and thoroughly explained, so that soccer played differently by women, compared to men, makes sense. Coaches who read this will be much better prepared to coach women to success.

This book is very thorough and written with the assumption that you have some knowledge of soccer. I recommend it for a coach, a player who wants to advance to compete at high club levels or college levels, and for a spectator who feels that coaching decisions will make more sense if the spectator understands the game better.
