Elizabeth Lowell writes Great stories! And this one doesn't disappoint!
He calls her Angel, though everyone else calls her Angie. She has survived excrutiating pain and injuries from a car wreck. And she lost her parents and fiance in that crash. He is Hawk, wealthy and skeptical of all women. He believes females all tell lies to get what they want from him. Forced to give Hawk tours of the area to help her friend sell his land, Angel recognizes her attraction to Hawk, but dislikes it. Hawk is flabbergasted by Angels truthfulness and is afraid that he must protect Angel from himself.

Excellent Elizabeth Lowell. The cover is different than shown. Set in the Pacific Northwest, like many of her books.

Ok - so if anyone has noticed, I am a Lowell fanatic. But in all fairness, here's why - she's GREAT! Her novels move you in a way that typical romance novels don't.
The cast of characters in this one will pique your interest from the start. Add on top of that an extrememly interesting twist between the main love interests on the first night of a boat trip (when you get there, you'll know what I mean) and you won't want to stop.
The characters pull you in, hug you, cry with you, cheer with you and in the end say good bye as only a well written novel can.
Take the time for this one, you'll appreciate yourself for having done so, and hey - you can order it directly from me ;0

An artist in glass and light, Angel once loved with sweetness and fire. Then she learned the pain of irretrievable loss-the sad and sudden permanence of death.
Reprint, different cover, same great story!

When Angel and Hawk first meet, they misjudge and hurt each other badly. But Angel is willing to risk what proud, silent Hawk cannot. Gently she brings truth and love to a tormented soul who believes in neither...though she fears in her heart that, by loving Hawk, she will surely lose him.
