I was glad to have read Masques before this book because it gave charactors more weight in this book. It was written well.

There was enough twisted plot to hold my attentions and keep me from guessing the ending before, well, the ending. I usually get there well before I finish reading three quarters of the book. I did not guess this ending until it was right there before me. I will keep reading this book series.
