Nick Lupo is a Detective from Minneapolis, he is also a Werewolf. Nick was attacked when he was a teen and now lives a double life.
Nick's lover is Dr. Jesse Hawkins and she runs the clinic on the Indian reservation in Eagle River, deep in the North Woods. Nick goes up to see Jesse once a month during the full moon to allow the Creature within him to run free in the Pine woods. She knows about Nick's creature, but she loves him, and waits for the monthly visit.
The Indian council on the reservation has decided to build a Casino to make money & jobs for their future. One night one of the council member is torn apart at the building site. Soon other members of the Council are also killed.
The question the Sherrif, Dr. Hawkins and Nick are asking is who would do this horrible killing and why?
I am not usually a fan of the Werewolf books, but this one is unique. Nick is struggling with the Creature within, and he wants a "normal" life of sorts. I really like the way the author breaks the book into sections, so you get the story from each characters point of view.
the story flows easily. I thought it was a quick read, and if you like mystery adventure with a little romance thrown in you'll like this one. I gave it 5 stars.
