This book was seemed like it should have been the first of the series. it was enjoyable kept me interested but the whole storyline gave it a feel that it happened before all the events from book #1 Myriad. I finished quickly and like the first was ready for more. Book #3 (The Sagittarius Command) is next and just so happens i already have it and ready to read. Started out as a war between Two sides the US & Romans (Palatine Empire) There are others involved in the storyline but only minor characters, LEN (League of Earth Nations) several Alien planets. Lots of tech to give you a SF feel, some that might be similar in other authors books like Slingshot Technology (wormhole, stargates ect). FTL travel is mentioned but not expplained much. also High Tech communications. So in all there was enough information and storyline to keep a reader wanting the next page.
I would have to say the book order almost seems backwards. If i were to start the series again or if i were to suggest this book to someone else i would say start with book #2 first and then read book #1.
Read order
Book #2 Wolf Star
Book #1 Myriad
